A cross-cultural VR initiative created by Less Media Group in partnership with the Institut français.

Over the past four years, the Digital Autumn festival has introduced more than 12,000 visitors to immersive art in cities across Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. This year, VR screenings return to Moscow and St. Petersburg for the fifth time and will also take place in Perm and Novosibirsk.
A painted line separates light from shadow, a figure from its surroundings, one world from another.

It also opens a passage into an artist’s imagination. What happens when we cross that line — when we step inside an image and encounter the reality its creator has imagined?

Digital Autumn 2026 explores this possibility through virtual and augmented reality.

Bringing together encounters with historical artworks and contemporary immersive creations, the festival invites audiences to move between different artistic realities: worlds shaped by colour, architecture, memory, sound, and the living environment.
From Monet’s water lilies and the enigmatic presence of the Mona Lisa to the shifting perceptions of Outrenoir and the intricate universe of Ito Meikyū, each experience offers a distinct way of seeing—and of being present.

Insider-Outsider is a musical and interactive experience created by composer and producer Philippe Cohen Solal (Gotan Project) and inspired by the work of American painter and writer Henry Darger, a major figure of the Outsider Art movement. This immersive experience is part of the transmedia project Outsider, which combines music and dreamlike imagery to immerse us in the hallucinatory universe of the artist. It portrays the attack against the Vivian Girls, the seven young heroines of Darger’s epic novel, as well as their victory over their assailants.

Interior and exterior, transparency and opacity, exhibitionism and voyeurism, feminine and masculine; all these notions oppose or unite in the infinite cycle of a labyrinth with no exit. Life here is like a loom whose living weft is woven from a myriad of branching threads and paths.

Under the Sky is a 5-minute immersive animated film that surrounds the viewer with a dreamlike flow of hybrid landscapes and fantastical creatures. Composed of nearly 300 watercolors created during an artistic residency in Borneo, the work is inspired by local tribal cultures and their deep, spiritual connection with the natural world. Echoing and transforming Chagall’s humanist message, the film emphasizes our fragile relationship with plants, animals and insects. Under the Sky is a poetic meditation on interconnection, loss and the cycles of life.
