Venice VR Expanded is the immersive digital edition showcasing the latest virtual reality projects selected by the Venice International Film Festival’s VR programmers.
It usually takes place on the island of Lazzaretto Vecchio off the Venice Lido, but in 2020 pandemic made it shift to a fully virtual space.
For the first time organizers allowed other countries to host the best showcase of VR content and teamed up with a number of institutions around the world to open up the Venice VR Expanded selection for global audiences to experience offline.
15 venues from a
Culture Center at Montréal to an Art Academy at Hangzhou made up the Venice VR Expanded — Satellite Programme network.
In 2020 Less Media Group became an official partner of La Biennale Di Venezia and organized the showcase of Venice VR program in Moscow. The event was held on Design Factory Flacon from September 2nd to September 12th, and supported by Expo Content, Russian Technological University and HTC VIVE.
In 10 days over 1000 viewers had an ability to dive deep into world's best VR content — something that was never before available in Moscow.
